About Public Record Hub
Public Record Hub is a directory that helps you find official government public record portals by state, county, and record type — so you can start in the right place.
Our mission
Public records in the U.S. are usually managed at the county and state level. There isn’t one national database for property records, court filings, tax records, jail information, and other common record types. Each agency may use a different portal, vendor, or process.
Our mission is simple: help people start with official sources. We organize pathways to government sites and explain what each page is for.
What we do
- Organize public record resources by State → County → Record Type.
- Prioritize official government sources when available, and clearly label external portals.
- Provide practical guidance and FAQs so you can use each portal effectively.
Important: Public Record Hub does not host government databases. We provide links and context to help you reach the correct agency portal.
What we don’t do
- We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with any county or state office.
- We don’t issue records, change records, or provide legal advice.
- We don’t guarantee that every record is available online or that access is free.
How sources are selected
We look for the official portals people are most likely to need — such as recorders, clerks, courts, assessors, treasurers, sheriff/jail systems, and GIS systems. Sources are categorized by jurisdiction (county/state) and record type to keep navigation consistent nationwide.
When possible, we prioritize domains that clearly belong to a government agency. Some counties use third-party vendors for search systems; when that happens, we label the portal so users understand they are leaving Public Record Hub.
For details on how we verify and maintain listings, see our Data Sources & Methodology page.
Accuracy and updates
Government websites and portals change frequently. We work to keep the directory current, but there will be times when links move, systems go offline, or an agency redesigns a portal.
If you find a broken link, incorrect category, or anything that doesn’t look like an official record resource, please report it so we can review it.

Contact
Use our contact page to report problems, request a correction, or ask general questions about how Public Record Hub works.
If you need a specific record, the fastest path is usually the relevant county or state office. Public Record Hub cannot retrieve records on your behalf.
